My Curriculum Vitae
My experience in multimedia includes all aspects of web design, client liason, commissioning programmers and coders, liaising with video producers, proof reading, and planning projects. I have a wide range of computer software. I have recently been working in the following: Photoshop, XHTML, CSS, Dreamweaver, IIlustrator, Flash, Director, Final Cut Pro (and preparing video for multimedia), Acrobat, Fireworks, Access, Excel, Quicktime VR, Filemaker Pro, Quark, and a few others along the way.

My responsibilites in recent jobs include:

  • Designing look and feel ideas for new build websites, using design knowledge, sensibility and pertinent research into business sector of client.
  • Designing thorough page designs for all significant pages of new build websites, and getting them signed-off by clients through an iterative process.
  • Seeing design process through from start to finish and beyond – providing for future maintenance on sites by documenting process thus:
    • Documentation of site design at point of sign-off
    • Creation of visual and content style guide
  • Creation of template files for production of graphics, including slicing and optimising images using Imageready
  • Producing comprehensive design briefs in collaboration with clients
  • Producing functional specifications in collaboration with clients and development team.
  • Fitting design and build process into company project management model
  • Pitching and presenting designs to clients
  • Input into project management plan, site map, and information architecture
  • Produce estimates for quotes to prospective clients
  • Build HTML for sites, including:
    o Using style sheets to position elements and style content of site
    o Building sites to all standards of accessibility compliance
    o Making sure sites pass required standards by validating CSS, HTML, and use of accessibility tools.
  • Taking care to make sites search engine optimised through code and design
  • Provide guidance/consultation on usability and accessibility for existing and new sites
  • Input into site reviews for pitches to new clients
  • Keep up to date on current best practice in web design and coding

Before my work in multimedia I spent many years producing technical drawings and detailed scale models for international opera and theatre companies. My skills in theatrical design include: design, technical drawing (paper & AutoCAD), scale model-making, styling, costume design, scene painting and prop making. I have a clean driving License

Amongst others, I have been assistant designer for productions at the Metropolitan Opera - New York, the Royal National Theatre, the Royal Opera House, Cologne Opera, and other theatres across Europe and the USA
